uhm....ISN'T THIS CALLED TERRORISM???

Report: Bush Authorized US Attacks Anywhere in the World

The New York Times has revealed the US military has waged nearly a dozen secret attacks inside Syria, Pakistan and other countries since 2004. The assaults were approved under a classified order signed by then Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and authorized by President Bush. The order authorizes US military attacks anywhere in the world if they can be linked to targeting al-Qaeda. Last month’s US attack inside Syria appears to be the latest known instance under the policy. Syria says eight civilians were killed. The attacks have often been carried out in collaboration with the CIA.

Uh-huh. So it's okay to just drop bombs on people's houses, [by the way killing plenty of children] just in case there may be a terrorist hiding out in there. Of course we all know how reliable our intelligence is [what with all those WMDs, etc.]. What it's actually called is: Bush writes a free ticket to kill anybody any time and call it an antiterrorist action, no matter what it REALLY is.

No, it's not okay.

Heres the deal, if the punk terrorist didnt use children and women as human shields we wouldnt have this problem in the first place, but they know people like you will complain about us going after them when they are among civilians. You would rather take the side of the same people who would slit your throat for even having that opinion i assume right? If the countries in question had any type of control over the terrorist in their own country (or cared to) we wouldnt have to go into the last places for them to hide, because guess what? We have already driven them out of all the places where you would call it "civil" to kill them. Bottom line is its in these countries best interest to harbor these terroist and since they wont activly pursue, WE WILL! All the bush hating is played out, Obama already won :). You cant blame bush anymore. I'm sure the biased main stream media wont tell a word of it when obmama makes the same call. Or maybe they will twist it to make it sound like a good thing so you can feel better about the inocent lives.

Yes, Obama won. And will not take office for another two months. All of the craziness that Bush has put into place remains, as of today. And there's no way to know for certain that Obama will be making many changes in those things UNTIL HE DOES IT. Our job will be to see that it happens.

"We have already driven them out of all the places where you would call it "civil" to kill them."

What, pray tell, are these places where we have driven them out? Kind of an interesting idea and I'd be intrigued to read that documentation.

As for terrorists slitting my throat because I have an opinion, think on this, brother: your government sends spies into activist groups, like antiwar groups [you know, people with "opinions"]. Your president signed himself an executive order allowing him to imprison ANYONE, any U.S. citizen, who he names an "enemy combatant." All that has to happen is for him to give you the title. For any reason he sees fit. There are no limitations on this. This is imprisonment with no charge necessary, no legal representation, no recourse, and no time limits. This scares me more than the idea of having my throat slit but a terrorist.

It's likely a better route to stop doing the things that make other nations hate us [like invading their countries, stealing their natural resources, and killing their children]than to waste time trying to ferret out every last one of them. Again, actionable intelligence is unreliable at best, and not a good enough excuse to kill innocent people.

Once again you side with the ones who will kill you just for being a women or think aloud. The license to kill and imprison anyone that you speak of bush having is liberal propaganda. Who has this happened to that you know of? Your mind is so clouded with anti bush redoric that you are not seeing the big picture. There is no way that any president would imprison any of us without good reason. Do you not think that the left will be totally consumed something like that? I'm intrigued to see that documentation. This idea of some sort of utopia is a fantasy. Its just another example of the extremists infiltrating our culture.

All this appeasing to other countries is hogwash. We dont need to be liked by other countries, and the moment you start worrying about it is the moment you start giving away your freedoms. there will always be someone who hates us, so what. Someone hates you and I right now as we write this. It happens and always will. you cannot base your foriegn policy on what other countries think of us. Thats a naive move, and was obama's first mistake in his campaign.

Radical islam is the enemy not our own people. unless our own people usher in radical islam. This comes in many forms not just an AK-47 in the battlefield. They have already infiltrated civil instituions within the country, and have many lobbyists.

Anyway i would love to continue this evening.

You’ve brought up a wide range of subjects here, so let me try to take them point by point:

Naïve Foreign Policy:
Lo these many years we have pillaged and looted in other countries wherever we could. Assassinating popularly elected leaders and supporting and installing dictators when it suits our aims, we turn a blind eye to the blood that flows through the streets, as long as the oil flows through the pipes in our direction. THIS is what must end.

Religious Zealots:
Radical Islam is frightening. As frightening as Radical Christianity. Any “god” that says go ahead and kill because they don’t believe like you do, that’s frightening.

Liberal Propaganda:
As for Bush’s “America”: No, I don’t think it’s a great idea to “protect” us so well that the protection requires the relinquishment of our own freedoms. In that case, what is it exactly that we are protecting? That Bush signed his executive order giving him the right to arrest me (or you) as an “enemy combatant” on his say-so alone should be enough to cause an uprising. Laying the groundwork for such a thing SHOULD scare us into action against even the possibility.

One of the freedoms that I cherish is the right to free speech. During the 2008 Republican Convention, 800 people were arrested for the “crime” of attempting to practice this. And there were preemptive raids, wherein police in full riot gear armed with assault rifles kicked down the doors to private homes and entered, terrorizing the occupants at gunpoint while the house was searched, arresting them so that even the possibility of their expressing their “opinions” was shut down. What part of your rights was protected here? JOURNALISTS trying to cover the stories were arrested.

It's not over just because Bush leaves office. It's not over until these mechanisms have been abolished.
